Jesus heals the person covered in leprosy

The simplicity of the way that Jesus cured a man covered in leprosy is surprising. Seeing Jesus, the man implored him saying, ''Lord, if you choose, you can make me clean.'' Jesus touched him and said, ''I do choose. Be made clean.'' And immediately the leprosy left him. That was it, as simple as that. (Luke 5:12-16). With a few words, Jesus changed a terrible disease into wholeness; from a painfully negative situation to totally positive one. Jesus could be teaching us an important lesson. Sometimes we too are aware of a negative situation in our life. As an example, we know that we are wasting too much time looking at internet, let's say You Tube. What we are watching has little value, it could even be negative, but we seem unable to stop watching it. But there are some wonderful programmes also on You Tube. Last night I felt inspired when I opened something called '' Ten Words that make the Holy Spirit Happy.'' They were phrases like, ''I trust in you Lord.'' ''Speak to me Holy Spirit.'' ''Thank you, Lord Jesus.'' ''I will follow you.'' Each phrase was backed up with a scriptural reference and a short commentary. So just as Jesus changed the life of the man with leprosy, so we too can change the negative things in our life by substituting something positive. It's what St Francis recommended in his prayer. ''Where there is hatred, let me sow love, where there is despair hope, where there is darkness, light and where there is sadness, joy.'' Thank you. Lord Jesus, I believe in your power.
