"My flesh is real food, my blood is real drink." Those who partake will live forever, but many disciples find this teaching difficult and leave. Today, Jesus is present in bread and wine, representing his body and blood. The mystery of transubstantiation attempts to explain this but ultimately remains a mystery, emphasising the reality of this gift for the life of the world.
