As we reflect on our journey as Columban missionaries, we remember the early days when we answered the call to serve in foreign lands - places unknown to us, among people who spoke languages very different from our own. We recall the exhaustion of language learning, the struggle to adapt to new customs, and the moments when we felt like strangers in unfamiliar environments. Yet, time and again, we found care and kindness in those who welcomed us. They became our teachers, support, and even healers in times of weariness.
