On this day in 2022 CNN reported on a study by the University of Cambridge that showed India had its highest April temperatures in 122 years. Deadly heat waves fuelled by climate change are threatening India’s development and risk reversing its progress on poverty alleviation, health and economic growth. These heat waves have led to power outages, increased dust and air pollution, and accelerated glacial melt in the north of India. Since 1992, more than 24,000 people have died because of heat waves in India, the study said.

we ask your blessing on the people of India and on other areas of the world effected by heat waves in recent times.
May we listen to all the warning signs that nature is sending us and be prompted to take the steps necessary to reduce the impact of climate change.
