Daily Prayer - January 23 2023

On 23 January 2020 the world saw its first coronavirus lockdown come into force in Wuhan, the Chinese city where the pandemic is believed to have started. The methods used to curb the spread of the disease in Wuhan would soon be adopted by other parts of the world – lockdowns, social distancing and mask wearing. Dealing with a virus that had no cure and no vaccine at that time lockdown proved to be an effective, if costly, method of tackling the virus.

Three years on China has abandoned its zero covid approach and lifted all travel restrictions.

Loving God,

the pandemic continues to impact the world in various ways and its effects, now linked to the war in Ukraine, are still taking a toll.

We pray for all those who are involved in medical research that they may find cure for the major diseases that plague humanity.

We ask that the all people may benefit from this research especially the most vulnerable.

Amen
