Daily Prayer - January 20 2023

On 20 January 1942, leading Nazi officials met at a Conference Villa in Wannsee, a suburb of Berlin. The conference had been called to discuss and coordinate a cheaper, more efficient, and permanent solution to the Nazis’ ‘Jewish problem’. The conference was attended by senior government and SS officials, and coordinated by Reinhard Heydrich .The Wannsee Conference formalised the Nazis’ policy of the extermination of Jews in occupied Europe. By the end of 1942 six exterminations camps had been set up.

Loving God

as we remember the Holocaust and the millions who suffered as a result of the Nazis desire to find a final solution, we pray for greater tolerance and respect for differences in our world.

We pray for all those who are victims of oppression, discrimination and hatred and ask for an end to all oppressive practices.

Amen
