Daily Prayer - February 7 2023

On February 7, 2009 a large number of bushfires broke out in the state of Victoria in Australia, leaving 173 people dead and hundreds injured. More than a million wild and domesticated animals were lost and 450,000 hectares of land were burned. The event is remembered as Black Saturday.

In recent times wildfires have become an increasing concern in many parts of the world with the latest deadly event happening at the moment in Chile.

Creator God,

as temperatures rise due to climate change more and more people are at risk from fires, we ask that we take the steps needed to keep the temperature from rising any further.

We pray for the people of Turkey and Syria as they deal with the deadly consequences of two powerful earthquakes.

Amen
