On April 4, 1975 Bill Gates and Paul Allen developed Microsoft for personal computers. In 1980 IBM asked Microsoft to produce an operating system for its personal computer and they came us with MS DOS (Microsoft Disk Operating System). This was the dominant system for personal computers and earned huge revenue for the company. Later Microsoft developed Windows, a graphic user interface that was (and is) hugely popular. Microsoft became a publically owned company in 1986.
Gracious God
we give thanks for developments in technology that have changed so many aspects of our lives.
We ask that these developments may serve the common good.
We ask that the growing influence of AI (artificial intelligence) be monitored so that it too may serve the welfare of society and the planet.
