The 3rd summit between the leaders of North and South Korea was held on April 27, 2018, between Kim Jong-un and Moon Jae-in. It was hoped that at this gathering there would be a formal ending to the Korean war as well as an agreement to rid the Korean peninsula of nuclear weapons. In the end neither happened. In recent times tension between the two Koreas has increased as the North carries out tests of various ballistic missiles and continues to work on developing a nuclear arsenal.
Gracious God
we pray for the people of Korea, North and South.
We ask your blessing on those who are working for peace in that area of the world.
We pray especially that nuclear weapons will never be used in any conflict and hope that one day they can all be done away with.
