In a survey on religious identity in the USA published on this day in 2019 “no religion” topped the list for the first time. The survey suggests that 23.1% of Americans now claim no religion. Catholics came in at 23.0%, and evangelicals were at 22.5%. The “no religion” group includes atheists, agnostics, and those belong to no specific organized religion. Similar trends have been recorded in other western countries.

we ask you blessing on those in our world who, for a variety of reasons, find it hard to believe in you.
We ask that we may continue to proclaim the gospel even though more and more people seem to struggle to hear it.
