The theme for Earth Day, which will be celebrated on April 22nd is Invest in Our Planet. First celebrated in 1970 Earth Day provides an opportunity to recommit to taking care of our fragile earth. Almost every day new information emerges that emphases the need to take urgent action on climate change. It is hoped that as companies see that caring for the earth is also good for business, they will invest more in sustainable solutions.
Creator God,
we thank you for the gift of Earth, our home.
So far nothing quite like it has been found in our vast and ancient universe.
May we walk gently on its surface and do all we can to protect its ecosystems that sustain it and us.
