Reports coming in from Delhi in India suggest that smog levels there have reached dangerous proportions. On November 8, 2017, all of Delhi schools had to be closed as air quality reached hazardous levels. There were similar issues in 2021 and again now in 2022.
Delhi is one of the world's most polluted cities through the year. This is due to a mix of factors including dust, weather patterns, traffic fumes and industry emissions. But its air turns especially toxic in winter when farmers in surrounding states burn crop stubble.
Loving God
we pray for all the areas of our world where poor air quality is having damaging effects on people and their lives.
We pray for those gathering in Egypt at present for Cop27 that the action needed to turn around the damage done to the earth by humans will be taken.
Amen
