Daily Prayer - November 24, 2022

The river Thames in London began to freeze over during a cold spell that began on November 24 in 1434 and lasted until February 10, 1435. It also froze over on this day in 1715. In all ̊it froze over 23 times between 1408 and 1814 when the climate in Britain was 1̊ c lower than before or since.

The last big freeze was in 1963 though part of the river froze again in 2021.

Creator God

as the climate continues to warm, we are becoming more aware of what difference a seemly small increase like one degree can make.

We ask that we may not go past the 1.5 increase that has been identified as critical.

Help us to take the options that will help to save the planet while we still can.

Amen
