On June 1, 2017, US president, Donald Trump announced his intention to pull the US out of the Paris Agreement.
This agreement sought to prevent increases in global temperatures by gradually reducing man-made emissions that science has shown causes rising temperatures.
The accord sets as a specific goal keeping the Earth from warming by more than 2 degrees Celsius. Just hours after he took over as President Joe Biden set about rejoining the accord.
Lord,
climate change requires a global response.
We ask that the nations of the world will take careful note of what is happening to our planet and commit themselves to the kind of action that will limit and hopefully begin to reverse the damage done by us to Mother Earth
