On February 11, 1990 Nelson Mandela was released from prison in South Africa after serving 27 years of a life sentence.
God be with all of those who have been imprisoned because of their work for justice or their efforts to protect Mother Earth.
Sustain those who are subject to arrest in many countries simply for being in opposition to their government.
We pray especially for journalists who are increasingly at risk of death just for doing their job.
