On December 17, 1967, the sitting Prime Minister of Australia, Harold Holt, went missing while swimming in the sea at Cheviot Bay with three companions. Despite an extensive search, that began just 2 hours after he went missing, his body was never found.
Though he was an outdoors type and a stronger swimmer, the currents in that area are notoriously dangerous and it had claimed other lives before him. The fact that he was the PM of Australia at the time give rise to various conspiracy theories about his disappearance.

we pray for all those people who have lost their lives in the sea.
Help us to fully appreciate the power of the ocean and also help us not to overestimate our abilities.
Be with all who have lost loved ones and do not know what happened to them.
