Daily Prayer - August 8 - 2022

ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) was created on 8 August 1967, when the foreign ministers of Indonesia, Malaysia, The Philippines, Singapore and Thailand signed the ASEAN Declaration.

As set out in the Declaration, the aims and purposes of ASEAN are to accelerate economic growth, social progress, and cultural development in the region, to promote regional peace, collaboration and mutual assistance on matters of common interest. (From the ASEAN Website). ASEAN now has 10 member countries.

Gracious God,

we ask your blessing on the people of Southeast Asia.

We ask that the nations that now make up ASEAN may work together for the goals they established when the Association was formed.

We pray especially that the Association may use its influence to bring about changes in Myanmar, which is a member nation.

Amen
