Daily Prayer - April 30, 2022

April 30, 2022

It is hard to imagine our world without the World Wide Web. It was invented in1989 by Tim Berners-Lee while he was working at CERN (the European Centre for Nuclear Research).

CERN put the World Wide Web into the public domain on this day in 1993.

It allows people with an internet connection access to an incredible amount of data and information.

Lord,

we give thanks for the web and for all that it helps us to know about our world and about each other.

We know the web can be used to spread misinformation, hate speech and other vile and nasty stuff.

We ask that the positive benefits of the web will far outweigh the negative.

May our ability to connect through the web increase understanding and bring people closer together.

Amen
