Daily Prayer - April 14, 2022

On April 14 we start the Easter Triduum.

During these days we celebrate the central mysteries that are at the heart of our faith – the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus.

For some the cross represents foolishness and failure.  But for believers it speaks the depth of love God has for us.

We remember that Jesus broke through the bonds of death and rose to a new and glorious life. His resurrection is God’s seal of approval on his life and ministry and the source of our hope that we too can rise to new life with him.

This year when we are celebrating Holy Week, the Jewish community will be celebrating the festival of Passover and the Muslim community will continue Ramadan.

Lord,

we ask that our celebration of the events of Holy Week will deepen our faith in all that God has done for us in Christ.

May it strengthen our commitment to live and witness to the Gospel.

May the power of the resurrection be at work in all who struggle so that they may be able to break free from whatever holds them back from life in its fulness.

We also pray for the members of the Jewish and Muslim communities as they celebrate important feasts.

Amen
