Lord, we can’t change overnight, nor do you expect us to. You are patient with us, and understanding of our reluctance.
But may these 40 days of Lent be for us a time of change for the better, a time of renewal in our lives, a time for a fresh understanding of how much you love us, of how much you want us to come closer to you.
Lord, may I come nearer to you this Lent. May my resolve to be better not falter through lack of spirit. May this Lent be the start of something special in my life, of something to renew me at the very centre of my being.
Lord, renew me in your love.
