Lord, it’s so easy in our world today to lose sight of the real meaning of our existence, to lose sense of you, our living and true God. We can become attached to material things, we can idolise the rich, the famous, the celebrities, the icons of the modern world. We can make gods of food and fashion become engrossed in things trivial, fads here today, fashions gone tomorrow.
We can forget you, our living and true God, the meaning of our existence.
Lord, help me this Lent to put you at the forefront of my thoughts, even just for a few moments each day. Help me to pray.
Amen.
