Please pray for Fr David Arms

On Wednesday afternoon Fr Dave was admitted to Hutt hospital with severe internal bleeding. His sister, Judith, and I were with him as he received attention in the emergency ward. In the evening he was transferred to Wellington hospital where he underwent two operations through the night.

Yesterday morning Judith and I went in to see him in the Wellington hospital ICU. He was very much aware of what was going on around him and we were able to chat with him. I anointed him and assured him of our prayers.

Most of his life has been spent in Fiji where he devoted his life to translation work. He has a doctorate in linguistics and was instrumental in producing the new translations of the Fijian lectionary and missal. He is working at this time on a new English-Fijian dictionary.

He was recently diagnosed with melanoma and had been receiving immuno-therapy.

Please remember him in your prayers.
