Columbans in Britain are a group of Columban Fathers, Sisters and Lay Missionaries who give expression to their commitment to the mission of Christ in the world through a variety of ministries including:

  • Mission Awareness and Fundraising: Columbans in Britain visit their parishes each year to promote mission and support, inviting readership to The Far East magazine and Vocation for Justice newsletter.
  • Justice, Peace & Integrity of Creation (JPIC): Promotion of justice, peace and environmental justice work in Britain.
  • Cross-Cultural and Interfaith Dialogue: Promotion of dialogue and action between peoples of different cultures and religions.
  • Exchange of Personnel for Mission: Facilitate the exchange of personnel and resources between Britain and other countries where Columban Missionaries work.
  • Cultural Exchange with China (CEC): CEC aims to promote understanding, cooperation and friendship between the Catholic Churches of China and Britain.

Columbans in Britain aim to grow vibrant Christian communities where they work, restoring dignity to the poor and marginalised, whilst enabling them to challenge the roots of poverty and social injustices that are impacting their lives.
